The Danish Headache Questionnaire (DHQ)
General
The headache survey consists of the Danish Headache Questionnaire (DHQ) and a logbook. The purpose of the survey is to measure clinician characteristics and knowledge when managing patients with headache and to obtain accurate headache prevalence estimates in clinical practice.
The DHQ is a 45 item questionnaire measuring 12 domains:
- Clinician characteristics
- Prevalence of headache consultations
- Knowledge of the Danish profession-specific clinical care standard
- Knowledge of the categorisation and diagnosis of primary types of headaches
- Knowledge of the categorisation and diagnosis of secondary types of headaches
- Knowledge of the classification and diagnosis of other types of headaches
- Medical history and physical examination items assessed by the clinician
- Monitoring tools and treatment outcome measures used by the clinician
- Collaboration with other health care providers
- Treatment modalities and outcomes
- Number of consultations, duration and frequency of care
- Perception of efficiency
The logbook is a booklet designed for registering number of patients for prevalence estimates.
The DHQ is based on the work by Moore et al. The management of common recurrent headaches by chiropractors: a descriptive analysis of a nationally representative survey. → abstract
The DHQ and logbook will be ready for public use and published on this website probably in the spring of 2024.
